What to Pack for an Italian Summer

Working on our Italy issue put a lot of Traveler editors into fantasy summer vacation planning mode. “How many days off can I feasibly take at a time, and is February too early to email my manager about plans for August?” at least one of us wondered. In an effort to dull the pain of a New York winter while staring at hundreds of photos of a sun- and wine-drenched Italian summer, we came up with packing lists for some of the country’s most gorgeous hotels—from a party-ready look perfect for Lake Garda to a Porto Ercole poolside ensemble.
