By Andrew McQuarrie| March 26, 2025 | 12: 52 Go company employees reunited with a few things with romantic worth after their offices were destroyed by a fireplace. Inverness ‘ Fairways Business Park store, home to SJ Travel Centre, caught fire in the first days of Sunday, March 9th. The majority of the items were confirmed as piece, but a few items, including a 26-year-old reserve with industry contacts, were saved, according to company owner Julia Macleay, who said the contents of the office were transported to the skip. She said the rescued things were” just a few little riches, but they mean the world.” After revealing that a Skoda Octavia car was purposefully driven into the tower, before the facilities and vehicles were set arrive, police said inquiries are ongoing. Additionally, the building was home to a shop, a hairdresser’s, a barber’s, a fish shop, and a gift shop, with Macleay even owning the first. In a Facebook post, Macleay described” hard” scenes to watch in the wake of the fireplace. She wrote,” The entire contents of SJ Travel Centre were loaded into a skip and taken away.” It was heartbreaking to watch years of hard work, memories, and a lot of background disappear like that, but in real SJ fashion, there is always a silver lining. Some truly legendary skipyard people managed to save a few highly specific items for us. She continued,” Her father’s son’s friend functions at the skipyard, and he searched through three runs to see if anything may be salvaged after getting agreement from his manager.” He recovered two books containing business connections and memories from two of the agents ‘ travel occupations, with one of the books dating again 26 years, amid the “melted” computers and other destroyed things. Number plates from a former chauffeur’s car were also saved, along with the business ‘ bank accounts and some customer information. Additionally, 40-pound funds were saved for a nearby hospital. None of the products are important, Macleay said, but they were significant to us, and I’m so thankful to the companion of my son for going through the misses. Not everyone would attempt that, which was beautiful. Although the company is partially based in Robertson House on Shore Street, Macleay anticipates that the company will soon acquire a system on the Longman commercial property to give more accessibility to walk-in customers. If the company is rebuilt, she anticipates that it will eventually relocate up into Fairways Business Park. Enquiries are still continued, and the house has been abandoned, according to Police Scotland. After the fire that left its Inverness location, SJ Travel Centre has recovered some items ( left ).
