Allegiant Reaches Deal With Flight Attendants

Allegiant and The Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO Local 577 have come to a tentative agreement on all outstanding matters for the successor to their initial collective bargaining agreement.

The initial collective bargaining agreement between the parties reached its amendment period on December 21, 2022. After engaging in negotiations for approximately 18 months, Allegiant and the TWU successfully achieved a new tentative agreement spanning five years. This accomplishment was made possible by leveraging their existing robust and productive working partnership.

Allegiant’s 1,700+ flight attendants will benefit from the newly proposed agreement, which brings about notable changes. Firstly, wages will see significant increases, while a modified duty rig will be implemented to provide extra compensation for extended operational delays. Furthermore, designated Holiday pay will be introduced. Retirement benefits, deadhead pay, bonus flight hour calculations, and vacation allocation and pay will also undergo improvements. In terms of quality of life, Allegiant flight attendants can expect enhancements to scheduling, hours of service, and leave of absence. Lastly, a minimum trip pairing pay will be introduced as per the agreement.

“We are encouraged the negotiating teams for both Allegiant and the TWU have come to a tentative agreement,” said Allegiant President Gregory C. Anderson. “Our cabin crew take care of our customers as our ambassadors in the sky. This contract is structured to meaningfully improve their experience and better recognize their vital role as part of Team Allegiant. We look forward to the next step in the process.”

The union’s full membership is expected to conduct a ratification vote on the deal, and it is anticipated to be finalized next month.
