British Airways is leading the charge towards sustainable aviation with a multi-million-pound investment program to revamp its ground support equipment at Heathrow Airport. Over 90% of the airline’s vehicles and ground equipment at Heathrow now boast zero emissions, hybrid, or operate on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel, thanks to initiatives such as replacing diesel passenger aircraft steps with electric versions and introducing electric baggage tugs.
