Bunkhouse to debut Hotel Saint Augustine in Houston this autumn

US: Hospitality group Bunkhouse will opens its first Houston property, Hotel Saint Augustine, in mid-November this year.

Hotel Saint Augustine is a new-build property with 71 rooms and suites spread across five small buildings over two floors. Amenities include an all-day restaurant, lobby bar, event space, and circular courtyard pool.

The hotel has been designed by Post Company in collaboration with Bunkhouse, with architecture by Texas firm Lake | Flat and landscape architecture by lauded Texas studio Ten Eyck. The property is connected by open-air bridges and porches to blend in with the residential Montrose neighbourhood.

Houston chef and restaurateur Aaron Bludorn alongside  front-of-house partner and director of operations Cherif Mbodji will oversee the hotel’s food and beverage venues, including the event spaces.

Last year, Bunkhouse revealed it will develop a second hotel in Houston – Hotel Daphne – which is schedule to open in early 2025. The property offer 47 rooms and suites, an all-day restaurant, ground floor bar and lounge, courtyard, pool and pool bar, library, and lobby retail shop. 

In addition to Texas (Houston, Austin and San Antonio), Bunkhouse operates in California (San Francisco), Kentucky (Louisville) and Mexico (Todos Santos and Mexico City). With the opening of Hotel Saint Augustine, the Bunkhouse hotel portfolio will stand at 11.
