CMAC Group reports 15% increase in disruption management bookings

ACCRINGTON, UK – With half-term looming for UK schools, and air and rail travel disruption anticipated for the coming months, CMAC Group is preparing for a busy summer season, already reporting a substantial increase in its disruption management operations for the first quarter of 2024 (Q1).

The group’s emergency transport services – which support airlines and rail operators with passenger ground transportation and accommodation during times of disruption – surged to 135,973 bookings from January to March 2024, up 15% from the same period last year.

The world now enters a busy period of travel, following IATA’s announcement that the airline industry achieved full recovery in passenger traffic during February, surpassing the 2019 threshold by 5.7%. With this increase and strikes already being announced, CMAC is ramping up its support for airlines and rail operators ahead of the surge in disruption.

Peter Slater, CEO of CMAC Group, commented on the rise in activity, stating, “With more than 17 years of experience and an extensive network of approved suppliers, CMAC is well-equipped to handle events and disruptions of any scale or operational complexity. As well as a growing appetite from airlines to digitise their disruption management ahead of the summer, our Q1 operations are a testament to CMAC’s expanding presence and capabilities in managing transport disruptions across various sectors.”

Leveraging its advanced Smartlink technology and robust network of suppliers, CMAC is preparing to meet the challenges of the anticipated jump in travel volumes. Collaborating closely with operators, airlines, airports, and regulatory bodies, CMAC aims to enhance passenger confidence and contribute to a smoother travel experience during this busy season.
