Cycas Hospitality to manage The Ormond Hotel in Dublin

Cycas Hospitality has been appointed to manage The Ormond Hotel in Dublin on behalf of the Ormond Group, a leading hospitality group from Southeast Asia.

This will be Cycas Hospitality’s first property in Ireland and marks another significant step in its pan-European expansion.

Overlooking the river Liffey in central Dublin, Ormond Hotel embraces its surroundings with a nod to its past, famously immortalised in James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’.

The 120-key hotel seeks to represent “the complexity of modern Dublin life”. A mix of vintage and modern furniture, lighting, art and ephemera will create a design that mixes function and aesthetics, grounding The Ormond Hotel in contemporary Dublin’s hospitality scene.

The hotel’s bar and all-day dining restaurant will act as a standalone destination for guests. Padded booths will create nooks and add a sense of privacy for each party, whilst marching cased openings magnify the scale of the room.

The property will also feature a private dining space, designed as a parlour with a grand central table and panelling painted in a deep hue.

The Sirens Bar will be inspired from Chapter 11 of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”. The design narrative will reflect the novel’s themes with its velvet curtains, reminiscent of the theatrical allure of Dublin’s past and a marble bar, reflecting Dublin’s Georgian architecture.

Gareth Lim, CEO of the Ormond Group, said: “We are thrilled to have Cycas on board. Their expertise and dedication to guest satisfaction make them the perfect hotel management partner as we prepare to re-establish the iconic Ormond Hotel and its culturally significant Joyceian connections as a stalwart of Dublin’s hospitality scene”

Matt Luscombe, CEO of Cycas Hospitality, added: “We are looking forward to partnering with the Ormond Group to bring our shared hospitality values to life with the signing of this fantastic new hotel. Dublin is a dynamic and culturally rich city, and this represents an important step in our journey at Cycas Hospitality.”
