Dubai Dishes returns for its highly anticipated second season, featuring Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton alongside Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh and a host of local chefs in Dubai. This 10-part series, produced by Rock Oyster Media in association with Visit Dubai, promises to take viewers on a culinary journey through Dubai’s vibrant neighbourhoods and food culture.
As a multicultural hub home to more than 200 nationalities, Dubai’s gastronomic offerings offers rich diversity. With more than 13,000 dining establishments ranging from fine dining restaurants to family-friendly venues and funky, independent cafes, Dubai sets the stage for an exploration into the heart of its culinary landscape.
Following the success of season one last year, Dubai Dishes season two takes a neighbourhood driven approach. Each episode will transport viewers to iconic locations like Palm Jumeirah and Downtown Dubai, as well as lesser-known areas such as Al Quoz and the Hajar Mountains, exploring themes including preserves, third culture cuisine, traditional food, café culture and sustainable eating. The series will highlight homegrown concepts and local stories, showcasing how the city’s diverse population influences its evolving food scene.
Jason meets inspiring locals and food stars along the way to create three recipes per episode, spotlighting the unique ingredients that make up each dish. Watch as he explores Dubai’s mountainous enclave Hatta, away from the bustling city, in search of 100% natural honey to create BBQ Honey Chicken or discover what a sustainable future looks like at Dubai’s first net-zero energy development, where he sources herbs for Farro Risotto with Herb Butter. Using spices reminiscent of those brought by Indian traders along Hindi Lane, Jason creates Courgette Flower Pakoras to inspire viewers at home. Dubai’s thriving café culture also takes the spotlight as Jason visits quirky coffee store Nightjar and takes inspiration to create his own Coffee Glazed Short Rib.
The series features appearances by notable chefs including:
Himanshu Saini (Tresind Studio), a chef championing Indian cuisine, awarded two MICHELIN Stars in this year’s MICHELIN Guide Dubai and ranked 13th in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants
Spencer Metzger (Row on 45), formerly of The Ritz and now a rising star of Dubai’s culinary scene
