Could this Airbnb-HotelTonight collaboration portend greater integration between the two and even signal the start of an Airbnb loyalty program?
In a first for Airbnb, U.S. and UK users can now earn a 10% credit toward a stay or experience when they book a hotel on sister brand HotelTonight.
HotelTonight General Manager Ron Sandel told Skift Tuesday the idea is to increase HotelTonight bookings and boost its loyalty program, while also introducing its customers to Airbnb.
“Nine of 10 nights are booked at hotels, and so we think this is a great way to bring our audience to Airbnb,” Sandel said.
Airbnb doesn’t have its own loyalty program, and this is the first time it has offered such a discount.
