Five-star hotel Fonab Castle Hotel and Spa has appointed Peter Walker to take on the role of general manager.
Walker has taken the reins at the luxury castle hotel with 25 years of experience in the industry at some of the northeast of Scotland’s most recognised hotels in the business.
A Master Innholder, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Hospitality Action Ambassador, he is a stalwart within the industry, aiming to drive forward Fonab Castle as one of Scotland’s “most loved five-star hotels”.
Prior to joining Fonab Castle, he was previously managing director of Maryculter House in Aberdeen for more than five years, delivering excellent results in employee engagement, guest satisfaction and revenue growth. Before this, he also worked at Ardoe House, Marcliffe Hotel and Spa and Meldrum Country House Hotel and Golf Club, where he oversaw the repositioning of the hotel.
Regarding his appointment, Walker said: “Fonab Castle is a truly unique hotel with an impressive five-star offering. I am incredibly honoured to step into the role of general manager and I’m looking forward to working with the team who make this hotel so exceptional.
