Harbour Hotels acquires new property in Lake District

Harbour Hotels has expanded its presence in the North of England with the acquisition of the four AA Silver Star Rothay Garden hotel in the Lake District’s Grasmere.

Previously managed by Bespoke Hotels, the property has been rebranded as Rothay Garden By Harbour Hotels, and will now undergo a non-intrusive refurbishment programme, continuing to trade as normal.

Set at the foot of the fells within two acres of riverside garden on the edge of Grasmere village, Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels is a boutique countryside hideaway with a variety of outdoor activities to offer.

With every element of the hotel inspired by its rural surroundings, many of its 32 bedrooms and suites feature Lakeland views and balconies overlooking the banks of the River Rothay.

The hotel is also home to a two AA Rosette restaurant, bar and lounge with garden vistas and a terrace. The Riverside Spa offers a hydrotherapy pool with loungers, a herbal pine sauna, an aromatherapy room, infrared loungers and monsoon showers.

Mike Warren, CEO at Harbour Hotels, said: “We are delighted to have acquired this beautiful property in Grasmere and to be taking the Harbour brand to the Lake District. It will undoubtedly prove very popular with our guests and locals alike.”
