US: The family-owned and operated boutique property Hotel Lucine is due to open on Friday 10 November, housed in the former Treasure Isle Motel in Galveston, Texas.
Designed by Austin-based Kartwheel Studio, Hotel Lucine features 61 rooms, a pool and patio, a rooftop bar and a restaurant. It is situated at the edge of the Gulf of Mexico on 10th Street and Seawall Boulevard in Galveston.
The hotel’s on-site restaurant The Fancy will be led by chef Leila Ortiz. Opening on November 14 it will serve a French-inspired menu. A second dining venue called The Den will offer breakfast coffees, lunch, and evening cocktails.
At the centre of the hotel, a communal U-shaped courtyard will feature a pool and patio. A multipurpose dining and event space The Lanai can be found just off the courtyard.
Partners of Hotel Lucine include Dave Jacoby, a finance and hospitality development professional; Robert Marcus, a real estate and hotel operations professional; and Keath Jacoby, a marketing and branding executive.
K. Jacoby said: “We’re so excited to finally introduce Hotel Lucine to Galveston. I feel so privileged to create a space like Hotel Lucine in the very community that raised me and to continue sharing my love for Galveston with travellers and locals alike.”
Marcus added: “We hope to make Hotel Lucine a hangout where our neighbours and visitors can find culture, fun, and culinary and cocktail delights all in one place. We look forward to being a seaside hideaway that folks never want to leave.”
