Lemala Camps & Lodges’ James Haigh appointed as Chairman of ATTA

TANZANIA, AFRICA – James Haigh, Head of Sales & Marketing of Lemala Camps & Lodges – the renowned owner and operator of luxury safari accommodations in Tanzania and Uganda, Africa – has been appointed as new Chair of The African Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA), effective October 1 2024. Bringing a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience of over 15 years in African tourism, James’s appointment will further emphasise ATTA’s role as the leading Voice of Africa.

James Haigh’s illustrious career spans numerous African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa. His extensive travels have taken him from Morocco to Cape Town and the Seychelles to Sao Tome and Principe, allowing him to gain invaluable insights into the diverse cultures and landscapes of Africa.

In November 2013, James along with his wife, Leanne, were appointed to jointly serve as CEOs of all Tourvest operations in East Africa, including Lemala Camps & Lodges. Under their leadership, the businesses underwent significant restructuring and emerged stronger. Today, Lemala Camps & Lodges and Adrift have evolved into a group of 10 properties operating across Tanzania and Uganda, with an exhilarating activity brand offering thrilling adventures on the River Nile.
