Personal injury law firm Preszler Injury Lawyers, collected Tripadvisor review data for the top 50 attractions in Canada to find which are deemed the safest. For each attraction, they looked at the percentage of user reviews containing 12 terms relating to danger, such as ‘danger’, ‘unsafe’, and ‘unstable’ to identify which tourist spots are the safest.
According to the findings, Reif Estate Winery, Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada, is the safest place to visit.
The attraction, which allows tourists to taste the wines of Ontario, had a total of 2,194 reviews, none of which contained any complaints relating to danger.
Based in Toronto, Ontario, St. Lawrence Market was found to be the second safest tourist attraction.
With only 0.01% of reviews (two out of 14,016) mentioning an element of danger, visitors can enjoy food from more than 120 vendors, without worry.
Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal ranks third, with only 0.02% of Tripadvisor reviews (five out of 20,355) for the national landmark relating to danger.
In fourth is another winery in Niagra-on-the-Lake, Konzelmann Estate Winery, with just 0.03% of reviews (one out of 3,057) implying the attraction poses any risk.
Rounding out the top five is the shopping district Granville Island, situated in Vancouver, British Columbia, with 0.04% of reviews (eight out of 20,004) relating to the attraction posing any danger.

Château Des Charmes Winery and The Butchart Gardens share the sixth spot among the ten most risk-averse tourist spots, both at 0.06%.
Located in the St. David’s Bench, Ontario, the winery has just one review out of 1,704 that mentioned danger, while Butchart Gardens in Bentwood Bay had seven reviews out of 11,623 mentioning danger.
All at 0.07%, Old Québec, Horseshoe Falls and Old Montréal rank joint seventh for the least risky attractions to visit.
Out of a total 13,676 reviews for the Historic District of Old Québec, there are just nine risk-related references, while Horseshoe Falls has two out of 2,861 and Old Montréal has only 10 out of 13,843 reviews.
Vancouver is home to another one of the safest tourist attractions, Stanley Park, where only 0.09% of reviews (27 of the 29,264) mention that the attraction poses any danger.
Also based in Ontario, Niagara Falls ranks ninth amongst the least dangerous tourist spots, with just 0.10% of reviews (32 out of 31,968) for world-famed waterfalls related to danger.
The final spot in the top ten is claimed by CN Tower, located in Toronto. The globally recognised piece of architecture was found to have 0.11% of reviews (29 out of 25,562) referring to a lack of safety.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson from Preszler Injury Lawyers, says: “While some people are comfortable exploring tourist attractions that can be dangerous, others understandably prefer to stick to spots where they can enjoy their time without any worries – especially those traveling with young families who may not fully understand the risks certain activities have.
“If you are hoping to travel in Canada this summer, somewhere like Ontario is a good destination to visit, as the province is home to a number of safe attractions that can be enjoyed with minimal risk.
“If you are keen to visit some of the more adventurous spots that Canada has to offer, it’s important that you check reviews and read up about companies beforehand to make ensure your safety is still prioritised.”
