One&Only makes its U.S. debut with One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana, a resort offering unprecedented access to pristine ski slopes, hiking trails, and outdoor adventures. The resort is now accepting reservations for stays starting 18 November 2025.
One&Only has announced the upcoming opening of its first resort and Private Homes in the United States, One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana. The resort, nestled among the state’s mountain ranges and forests, will begin welcoming guests on 18 November 2025 and is currently accepting reservations.
Situated on 240 acres within the Moonlight Basin community, the resort promises to provide guests with an unrivaled experience of Montana’s pristine wilderness. The Moonlight Basin property spans over 8,000 acres and is a short distance from Yellowstone National Park, offering an exceptional year-round escape for guests.
One&Only Moonlight Basin’s newly unveiled ski lodge, One&Only Sky Lodge, offers guests a glimpse into the resort’s future offerings. Opened on 20 December 2024, the Sky Lodge is home to The Landing, a restaurant and bar concept showcasing locally sourced, seasonal meals. Additionally, the lodge houses a retail space and alpine equipment center, catering to ski and snowboard enthusiasts with offerings such as outerwear, goggles, gloves, helmets, and more.
The resort also features a state-of-the-art gondola system, the One&Only Gondola, which provides direct mountain access to the Madison Base area of Big Sky Resort. The Madison Base has been upgraded with an eight-seat, state-of-the-art D-line chairlift, doubling the uphill capacity and reducing ride time for swift and comfortable ski access to over 5,800 skiable acres.
One&Only Moonlight Basin has also announced a culinary partnership with Chef Akira Back, a global culinary leader and former professional snowboarder. Chef Back’s restaurant, serving modern Japanese cuisine, will join the resort’s roster of six bars and restaurants, enriching guests’ gastronomic experience.
The resort’s design, courtesy of internationally renowned architect Olson Kundig, is characterized by its sensitive integration into its natural surroundings. The property comprises guest rooms, suites, cabins, and an exclusive community of One&Only Private Homes spread across the secluded grounds. The resort’s design narrative continues with the collection of One&Only Private Homes, a few of which are still available for purchase.
One&Only Moonlight Basin is an ideal year-round destination for adventure seekers. Summer activities include hiking, fly fishing, kayaking, and mountain biking. In the winter, guests can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and fat tire biking. Additionally, the resort offers a state-of-the-art fitness center and restorative spa for relaxation and rejuvenation against Big Sky’s mountain ranges.
