Providence Hotels secures lease agreement for The Kennard Hotel

Providence Hotels has recently expanded into Bath by taking over The Kennard Hotel through a lease agreement.

Built in 1794, the Kennard Hotel is located in the heart of Bath and attracts visitors thanks to the city’s storied past.

The hotel is composed of 12 rooms over 5 floors, a garden and a breakfast room.

Sybrand Engelbrecht, business development director at Providence Hotels, said: “The Kennard holds a special place in Bath’s illustrious history, and we are honoured to become custodians of this iconic establishment. Our approach to hospitality evolves around fostering trust, authenticity, and accountability, values that align seamlessly with The Kennard’s ethos.”

Providence Hotels currently has a portfolio of varied properties spanning the United Kingdom and South Africa.

The lease agreement with The Kennard will preserve the hotel’s legacy while introducing modern enhancements to “elevate the guest experience”.

Dagmar Jungbauer, director of operations at Providence Hotels, said: “We recognise the responsibility that comes with managing a property of such historical significance. Our team is committed to honouring The Kennard’s heritage while infusing it with the warmth and personalised service that define Providence Hotels.

“Providence Hotels is more than a management company, we are stewards of hospitality, dedicated to building lasting partnerships, and creating unforgettable moments. As we embark on this journey with The Kennard, trust remains our guiding principle, weaving a golden thread of collaboration with our partners, stakeholders, and leaseholders.”
