The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the addition of the Palitana Palace in Palitana, Gujarat to its Taj brand portfolio. Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of IHCL, states that the move is a testament to Taj’s ongoing commitment to redefining luxury and preserving India’s rich heritage.
This partnership with His Highness Thakore Saheb Mandhatasinhji Jadeja of Rajkot is set to bring the historical charm of the Palitana Palace under the Taj brand. Chhatwal believes this addition will also enhance the appeal of Palitana, a revered spiritual destination in Gujarat, and create potential for growth in the region’s social and wedding events segment.
The 65-key Taj Palitana Palace will undergo extensive restoration to offer guests a unique blend of historical charm and modern luxury. The hotel will feature an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a lounge, and state-of-the-art facilities, including a gym, pool, and spa. The palace will also house a 3,000 sq. ft. ballroom, flexible meeting spaces, and outdoor lawns to cater to the growing demand for social and wedding events.
His Highness Thakore Saheb Mandhatasinhji Jadeja, on behalf of Trident Developers Pvt. Ltd. and the Jadeja Royal Family of Rajkot, expresses immense pride in the collaboration. He believes transforming the Palitana Palace into a Taj hotel is a significant step towards preserving Palitana’s heritage and enhancing its appeal to global travelers.
With this latest addition, IHCL expands its presence in Gujarat to a total of 29 hotels, including 10 under development.
