The Bath Hotel Lynmouth acquires pub with rooms

The Bath Hotel, a Victorian property situated in the village of Lynmouth on the fringes of Exmoor National Park, has acquired the Village Inn Lynmouth.The Village Inn dates back to the 18th Century, and features a “cosy” bar, dining area, open fireplace, outdoor courtyard garden, and nine letting rooms.

The Bath Hotel has been in the same family for three generations. It said the acquisition of the Village Inn “marks a significant step in the hotel’s long-term vision of growth that contributes to the local community and economy”.

The hotel added that it aims to “catalyse economic growth, create employment opportunities, and foster collaborations within the local supply chain”. 

Cavin Mpofu, general manager of The Bath Hotel, said: “The acquisition of the Village Inn was central to our growth strategy in the village. This decision was rooted in our unwavering commitment to local stewardship. 

“In a landscape dominated by brewery-owned corporate entities, our status as a family-owned and ‘free of tie’ establishment empowers us to champion locally based suppliers and brands, fortifying the economic fabric of our community.

He added: “Our expansion efforts extend beyond mere business transactions; they are a testament to our enduring commitment to nurturing the prosperity of Lynmouth and its residents.”
