The Driftwood Hotel sells to private investor group

The Driftwood Hotel in Cornwall has been sold to a private investor group for an undisclosed price.

The New-England inspired hotel features 14 rooms, a three AA rosette restaurant and a three-bedroom owner’s house.

It also includes landscaped gardens and grounds of around five acres that lead down to the private beach.

The property has been owned by Paul and Fiona Robinson for the past 22 years and came to the market as they are looking to retire.

The Robinsons said: “Whilst we have mixed emotions about leaving Driftwood, it has been an amazing journey and we would like to thank all our guests, many of whom have become friends over the years, for their support and of course, our wonderful staff.”

Stephen Champion, director – Hotels South West at Christie and Co, which brokered the sale, added: “Driftwood Hotel’s iconic location on the stunning Roseland Peninsula and fantastic reputation helped generate significant interest in this genuinely unique opportunity. We are delighted to see the business sell to an operator who plans to put further investment into the site to enhance its current offering.”
