The Standard resort product will make its French debut with the opening of The Standard, Brussels, a 200-room residence in the Northern Quarter. The Standard’s second Western home will open in May, following London and Ibiza, which opened in 2019 and 2021, both. It will be a component of the ZIN restoration project, a mixed-use complex that will transform the original World Trade Center site. The hotel’s 28-floor style group, led by Verena Haller, collaborated with Bernard Dubois Architects and Jaspers-Eyers Architects. The Standard will debut extended-stay villas for the first time, which are located on the top two surfaces. The fully equipped apartments will accommodate long-term visitors by providing kitchenettes, workspaces, a 24-hour concierge, and regular housekeeping. A botanical garden and three dining establishments may be present. A bar and restaurant on the 29th floor, Lila29, will offer spectacular views of Brussels, while the ground-floor restaurant, Double Standard, may serve American and French bar fare. Additionally, labeled apartments are opening in Miami, Lisbon, Mexico City, Phuket, and Hua Hin, along with additional developments in Lisbon, Mexico City, Tulum, and Pattaya. Hyatt made plans to buy The Standard company, which is now a part of its life portfolio, next year.
