The Newman Hotel appoints new director of sales

The Newman Hotel in Fitzrovia, London, has announced the appointment of Alex Drown as director of sales, ahead of its opening next spring.

Holding more than 18 years’ experience in the luxury and lifestyle hotel markets across London and New York, Drown brings extensive knowledge from The Newman’s key markets.

Previous roles include Claridge’s, Mayfair; The Curtain, Shoreditch, Nobu London Portman Square and Gansevoort Meatpacking, New York City.

Drown’s appointment at The Newman marks a return to his home, London, following a role as director of Leisure Sales at Gansevoort.

After an extensive renovation, Drown was “instrumental in restoring the hotel and reintroducing the property to travellers from around the world”.

The Newman is international management company Kinsfolk and Co’s first hotel.

Sitting on its namesake Newman Street in Fitzrovia, The Newman features 81 rooms and suites, a European brasserie, cocktail bar, and wellness floor.

Drown said: “It’s great to be back in London and I am excited to unveil The Newman next year. I am proud to be part of this unique property and neighbourhood, celebrating and promoting both equally. I cannot wait to share it with our guests, industry partners and the Fitzrovia community.”
