The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel has unveiled the second phase of its multi-million-pound refurbishment, featuring the return of the Sampans Pan-Asian restaurant and a new club lounge. Earlier in the year, the hotel introduced an open lobby and 299 upgraded bedrooms. Now, the refurbished Sampans restaurant offers a variety of Pan-Asian dishes, including dim sum, curries, and the Malaysian dessert Kuih Dar Dar. The new club lounge, accessible to IHG rewards diamond elite members and guests who upgrade, provides complimentary drinks and snacks, along with comfortable seating and live travel information. The hotel also boasts a 24-hour fitness centre and eight meeting rooms. General manager Matt Byram expressed excitement about the positive public response to the modernisation and the return of Sampans, a previously popular restaurant on TripAdvisor.

Radisson Hotel Group has opened Stanhill Court Hotel, a Victorian-style property in Charwood, Surrey, as part of its Radisson Individuals portfolio. The hotel features 56 rooms, including a luxurious junior suite, and is situated on over 30 acres of land with numerous public footpaths leading to the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The hotel, which includes an amphitheatre licensed for civil ceremonies, is a sought-after wedding venue with versatile meeting and event spaces such as the orangery. Additional amenities include parking for 100 cars and an on-site restaurant, Restaurant 1881, offering all-day dining. General manager Luis Berjillos and Tom Flanagan Karttunen of Radisson Hotel Group highlighted the hotel’s commitment to personalised service and its appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

The Crowne Plaza Felbridge in Gatwick, London, has been listed for sale by Christie and Co. This 116-room hotel offers extensive function and meeting facilities, appealing to corporate guests. Leisure facilities include a spa with treatment rooms, a fitness centre, a sauna, a steam room, a jacuzzi, and an indoor pool. The hotel, located near East Grinstead with good links to central London, Brighton, and Gatwick Airport, also features a large car park with EV charging points. Craig Millward from Christie and Co emphasised the property’s excellent location and the opportunity it presents for potential buyers to enhance the business.

The AA has announced its 2024 B&B Awards, recognising establishments across the UK that have excelled in hospitality. Categories include Inn of the Year, Bed and Breakfast of the Year, and Restaurant with Rooms of the Year, with winners from England, Scotland, and Wales. Winners include The Cartford Inn in Lancashire, Kildrummy Inn in Aberdeenshire, and Y Talbot in Ceredigion. Other notable winners are Boys Hall in Kent, Mingary Castle in the Highlands, and Mallard Grange in North Yorkshire. Simon Numphud of AA Hotel and Hospitality Services praised the winners for their individuality and high standards of hospitality, highlighting the rich variety of quality B&Bs across the UK.
