Cameron House on Loch Lomond has appointed Claire Meir as its new director of sales. Meir, who has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, returns to Cameron House after previously serving as the director of sales for MICE for six years. Her extensive background includes roles at Fairmont St. Andrews, De Vere Hotels, and Marriott’s Forest of Arden Golf and Country Club. Meir expressed her enthusiasm for rejoining the team and aims to implement strategic sales plans to enhance the resort’s performance. Her appointment follows recent senior team additions, including Gary Rice as director of operations and Claire McIntosh as general manager. Cameron House features 208 rooms, 115 self-catered lodges, multiple dining options, a spa, a marina, and two golf courses. Resort director Michael Lavizani expressed confidence in Meir’s ability to drive revenue and capture new business opportunities.

Staycity Group has acquired a site near Nine Elms Station in London for a new Wilde Aparthotel. The former office block, purchased from Unite Students, will be developed in partnership with Citygrove, with a planned investment of £70m. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with completion expected in late 2027. The aparthotel will feature 177 units, including studios and one-bedroom apartments with fully-equipped kitchens. Amenities will include a laundry room, 24-hour reception, lounge, café, pantry, gym, and bar. Neil Short, Staycity’s development director for London, highlighted the appeal of the vibrant Nine Elms/Battersea area, emphasising its growth following the Northern line extension and the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station.

Amsterdam-based Sir Hotels has launched Sir Devonshire Square Hotel in London, marking its entry into the UK market. Situated in Devonshire Square, the boutique hotel offers 81 rooms, including 11 suites, three dining outlets, a private members’ club, a gym and yoga studio, and public spaces featuring local products. Sir Hotels, part of the Sircle Collection, now operates in five European cities, with plans to expand to Prague. The group aims to provide a luxurious and contemporary stay in London’s lively city centre, near Spitalfields Market and Shoreditch.

Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in Lancashire has introduced seven new Garden Rooms designed by Koto. Located in the grounds of chef Mark Birchall’s two Michelin-starred restaurants, these suites offer a blend of design elegance, culinary excellence, and sustainable luxury. Each room, named after botanicals, features unique interior themes and amenities, including private hot tubs and terraces. Guests can enjoy a meal at Moor Hall, starting with snacks and aperitifs, a kitchen tour, and a tasting breakfast at The Barn, the on-site neighbourhood restaurant. The new Garden Rooms aim to provide a serene and immersive retreat.
