Virgin Hotels has opened bookings for its first London location in Shoreditch, set to open on August 1. This hotel marks the brand’s eighth addition and the 17th within the Virgin Hotels Collection. Located at 45 Curtain Road, the 120-bedroom hotel will offer luxury experiences including the Spanish restaurant BiBo in collaboration with chef Dani Garcia. Guests will have access to a private members club managed by Blue Marlin, featuring a rooftop bar, pool, restaurant, gym, and spa. Direct bookings through Virgin Hotels provide additional perks via The Know loyalty programme, including room upgrades and a complimentary cocktail hour. Starting in October, Virgin Red customers can redeem points for stays at the Shoreditch hotel.

Everly Hotels Collection has launched its first property, The White Horses, in Rottingdean near Brighton. The hotel features 32 guestrooms, including three dog-friendly rooms, and a 290-seater restaurant with sea-view terraces. Each room is designed with contemporary interiors and named to celebrate local landmarks. The hotel’s bar and restaurant emphasise fresh, quality ingredients and local produce. Managing director Vincent Madden highlighted the hotel’s blend of boutique comfort and local experiences, aiming to create a welcoming environment for both guests and locals. The hotel’s Discovery Bar offers local ales, wines, and spirits, supporting the community.

The Driftwood Hotel in Cornwall has been sold to a private investor group for an undisclosed amount. The New England-inspired property includes 14 rooms, a three AA rosette restaurant, a three-bedroom owner’s house, and five acres of landscaped gardens leading to a private beach. Owned by Paul and Fiona Robinson for 22 years, the hotel was sold as the couple plans to retire. The sale, brokered by Christie and Co, attracted significant interest due to the hotel’s iconic location on the Roseland Peninsula. The new owners plan to invest further in the property to enhance its offerings.

The Ibis Styles hotel in Glasgow, themed around the city’s music scene, has secured a £5m refinancing deal from Assetz Capital. The 137-bed hotel features a ‘rehearsal studio’ bar, a ground-floor Tinderbox coffee shop, and working spaces. The refinancing deal coincides with a £7m development finance agreement for building three luxury homes in Surrey. Assetz Capital’s recent funding initiatives aim to support various property projects across the UK. David Hehir and Andrew Fraser of Assetz Capital highlighted the firm’s commitment and expertise in the hotel sector and broader property market, ensuring successful support for diverse property developments.
