Traveling to your favorite city destination is always exciting, but it’s still important to do your research beforehand so you can be as prepared as possible. With this in mind, Cody Candee, CEO and Founder of Bounce, has provided his top tips for travelers visiting Seattle:

1) Seattle’s coffee culture

Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks and has a rich coffee culture. There are 35 coffee shops per 100,00 residents, and the locals spend an average of $36 a month on coffee. Enjoy exploring local coffee shops and roasteries for a taste of Seattle’s artisanal coffee scene.

2) Whale watch

The prime whale watching season in Seattle typically runs from April to October, although sightings can occur throughout the year. During this time, several species of whales migrate through the waters of the Puget Sound and the nearby Pacific Ocean, including orcas (killer whales), humpback whales, gray whales, minke whales, and occasionally blue whales.

3) Plan your trip to see all the attractions

Seattle is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do, so it’s important to plan where you want to go so you don’t miss out. Some of the most popular attractions include the iconic Space Needle, which costs up to$37.50, depending on age and when you buy, and the Seattle Art Museum, which is $29.99 if you buy in advance, or $32.99 on the day.

4) Take advantage of the outdoor activities

Seattle is surrounded by nature. Consider hiking in Discovery Park or enjoying a boat tour on Lake Union, or taking a ferry to Bainbridge Island for picturesque views of the city.

5) Use an ORCA card for traveling

When it comes to traveling the city, utilize Seattle’s public transportation system, including buses and the light rail. Consider getting an ORCA card, which costs just $3 plus credit, for easy access to public transportation.
