Warwick Castle has officially opened its new £16.4m mediaeval themed hotel.
Set in the heart of Warwick Castle’s 64-acre grounds, the exterior of the hotel resembles a mediaeval hall, with a roughcast render, timber cladding and shingle roof tiles.
The hotel entrance is adorned with an animatronic horse with a knight riding on its back and the interiors feature historic portraits across the walls of the hotel.
The hotel features over 60 mediaeval inspired rooms, and each room in the hotel gives a nod to the Wars of the Roses, with rose motifs, chambers draped in “rich coloured” fabrics and includes wooden beams and shields.
Additionally, the hotel joins the existing accommodation at Warwick Castle, including Caesar’s Tower Suites, “luxurious” chambers hidden within the castle’s 14th Century tower, the Knight’s Village Woodland Lodges, linked by wooden walkways in the woods, and the Knight’s Village Medieval Glamping, for sleeping under the stars within the grounds of the castle.
From 22 to 26, and the 30 and 31 August, Warwick Castle will launch the Dragon Slayer live show, which will take place in the central courtyard in a 360-degree tiered seating arena.
Liam Bartlett, general manager at Warwick Castle, said: “We are so proud to announce that we have now opened the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel. Following years of meticulously planning every element to make each stay inspiring and memorable for our visitors, it’s incredibly exciting that we can now share our newest accommodation offering with our guests which are open all year round and offer something unique across the seasons.”
