UK: Merlin Entertainments, owner of UK attractions, has developed a £16.4 million hotel on the grounds of Warwick Castle.

Set in the 64-acre grounds of Warwick Castle, the hotel offers more than 60 medieval inspired rooms.

Experiential design features include a rearing animatronic horse with a knight  on its back in the hotel entrance, as well as talking historic portraits that interact with guests and provide an oral history into the castle.

As part of the development, Merlin Entertainments will also plant 1,000 trees in the castle grounds.

Overnight stays at the hotel includes a one-day ticket into the castle, evening activities for children, complimentary breakfast, and exclusive use of the medieval themed Accommodation Restaurant.

Liam Bartlett, general manager at Warwick Castle, said: “We are so proud to announce that we have now opened the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel. Following years of meticulously planning every element to make each stay inspiring and memorable for our visitors, it’s incredibly exciting that we can now share our newest accommodation offering with our guests which be open all year round and offer something unique across the seasons.”

The hotel joins existing accommodation including Caesar’s Tower Suites, the Knight’s Village Woodland Lodges, and the Knight’s Village Medieval Glamping.

Merlin operates 137 attractions, 22 hotels and six holiday villages in 24 countries and across four continents.
