Cringletie Estate, located in a prime Scottish Borders location near Peebles has been brought to the market at a guide price of £2,900,000 for the freehold interest.
Cringletie sits at the heart of an area renowned for country pursuits including shooting, horse riding, fishing and cycling, only 40 minutes south of Edinburgh.
The four-star country house hotel features 14 ensuite bedrooms, a two AA Rosette restaurant as well as a four bed owners house and separate cottages.
The current owners, New Zealand-born Bill Cross and his wife, have taken Cringletie forward over the last five years to become a “pre-eminent” luxury hotel.
The couple are now planning their retirement, and feel it is time for a new owner to take over and pursue the various development options which exist within the 28-acre estate.
Gary Witham, hotel director at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, said: “This is a wonderful country estate with a history dating back to the 1600’s, which gives a buyer the opportunity to continue Cringletie’s journey as a top class luxury hotel.”
