Haven to open Wetherspoon pub in Primrose Valley Holiday Park

Haven’s Primrose Valley Holiday Park will be opening The Five Stones, a J D Wetherspoon pub, following a £1.1m investment on Friday 8 March.

News comes as Haven has signed an exclusive agreement to be J D Wetherspoon’s first and only commercial partner.

The Five Stones will, during peak season, be open Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 to 12:00 and Friday and Saturday from 08:00 to 01:00. During the off-peak season, the pub will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 to 23:00 and Friday and Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00. Food service will end at 22:00 throughout opening hours and will be serving alcohol from 10:00, in line with the existing licence across Haven branded on-site restaurants.

The name of the pub links to several Roman ‘finds’ that have been unearthed in and around Filey, North Yorkshire. In 1924, fragments of Roman pottery were discovered near what is now the main entrance of Primrose Valley Holiday Park.

Andy Milner, pub manager of The Five Stones, said: “We’re excited to start the season by opening the doors of our brand-new pub to our owners and holidaymakers. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at our park enjoy the new facilities throughout the year.”

Michael Barron, commercial director of Wetherspoon, added: “We are delighted to be opening at Primrose Valley Holiday Park. We are confident that owners and holidaymakers will welcome the pub and that it will be a great addition to the park.”

Acquired by Blackstone in 2021, Haven has already invested over £410m in 2021, 2022 and 2023, with a commitment to upgrading and modernising all holiday parks to offer guests an “unforgettable” holiday experience. This includes a £4m investment made to expand Haven’s overall food and beverage offering in 2024 across parks.
