Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough completes first phase of £1m refurb

Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough has completed the first phase of a £1m investment plan to enhance guest experience, with 66 out of its 159 bedrooms refurbished to date.

The renovation project, which includes an upgrade to a “lighter and brighter” colour scheme, has also fitted all rooms with new 42 inch TVs including the integration of Chromecast.

Located in Centre Square, Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough is “ideally situated” for corporate travellers and leisure guests to explore the local area.

The hotel also offers a complimentary buffet breakfast and dinner menu, with a 24-hour bar serving drinks.

Mark Ashall, director of the Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough, said: “We’re thrilled to unveil the first phase of our investment plan, given the increase in business activity resulting from the large number of new projects announced at Teesworks and elsewhere in the Tees Valley.

“It was important for us to ensure we are providing the best possible experience for our guests, in particular corporate travellers who are increasingly visiting and staying in Middlesbrough.”

Laura Telford, general manager of the hotel, added: “The room refurbishments have been received extremely positively so far, especially by our corporate guests who frequently choose to stay with us thanks to our central location – offering both comfort and convenience.

“We’re excited to be a part of the regeneration of Middlesbrough as we continue our 12-month investment plan to upgrade our remaining rooms.”
