UK: Property consultancy Knight Frank is seeking an operator for an office-to-boutique hotel conversion in Newcastle city centre.
Located on the corner of Dean Street and Mosley Street in Newcastle city centre, Churchill House is a Grade II-listed office building.
Knight Frank has been appointed as the sole selling agent to secure a new tenant for the site. It presents the opportunity to convert the vacant space into a 40-to-50 bedroom hotel on a new lease.
The five-storey building also has capacity for food and beverage or a spa.
Ryan Lynn, partner at Knight Frank, said: “This is a unique opportunity to work with the current owners, an established property company in the North East, and have input at the start of the process into layout, facilities and design throughout, to create a new hotel experience in Newcastle upon Tyne, a city that is receiving a huge amount of investment and attracting visitors from around the world.
“Dating back to 1891, this Victorian building has an impressive facade with traditional features internally throughout – with the right operator in place, it could be the next talked about hotel in the North of England,” Lynn added.
Churchill House is within walking distance of Newcastle Central Station, Northumberland Street and St James’ Park, with easy access to the rest of the region via road, rail and air.
