Passenger volumes at Ben Gurion Airport have witnessed a notable increase, marking the highest levels since the commencement of the Gaza conflict. The primary factor driving this upturn is the ongoing resumption of foreign airline services to Israel.
Last Sunday, February 11, 2024, Ben Gurion Airport welcomed around 29,500 airline passengers, arriving and departing on 169 international flights, according to the data provided by Israel Airports Authority.
Around 15,800 passengers departed the country on international flights, while roughly 13,700 passengers arrived in Israel.
Airline passenger traffic has reached its highest point since the Gaza war started, with a number almost matching last Thursday’s count of 29,500 travelers passing through Israel. This marks the first time since the start of October conflict that the figures have been relatively high. It is worth mentioning that these numbers are higher at the beginning of the week compared to the middle of the week.
Last Thursday, the Greek Blue Bird company, which had 9 flights on the Athens Tel Aviv route, also re-launched its air service to Larnaca, Cyprus.
To stay updated with the most recent flight schedule, it is advised to refer to both the Airports Authority website and the respective airline’s information as recommended by the Israel Airports Authority.
