Pet-Friendly Hotels Gear Up for National Pet Day 2024

TORONTO — With National Pet Day coming up on Apr. 11, 2024, a selection of pet-friendly hotels across Canada are showcasing their perks and packages for pet parents and their four-legged friend.

British Columbia

JW Marriott Parq Vancouver has a dedicated Very Important Pet (VIP) Package running through Dec. 31, 2024, complete with a custom-made pet meal and “puppucchino.”

The DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection offers guests and their pets the Paw-Some Package which includes a custom pet meal and waived pet cleaning fees, available until Dec. 31, 2024.

Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre’s Pamper Your Pet Package includes a bag of pet treats, an upcycled climbing rope tug toy from Little Pine Pet and more, with $5 per each night’s stay donated to Whistler, B.C.’s animal shelter, Whistler Animals Galore (WAG). Guests can book by Nov. 26, 2024 to experience the package.

Versante Hotel’s pet-friendly luxury guestrooms and suites provide upscale accommodations for both travellers and their pets.

Watermark Beach Resort has a Pets Can Stay Certification, providing pet amenities and services. Dog treats and a pooch welcome pack are provided upon arrival, and the resort’s pet-friendly location is close to walking trails and a doggie beach. A pet-guest fee of $30 per night (max $180 per stay) is applied per pet.

Accent Inns is offering no-pet fees, tailored amenities and pet-friendly rooms throughout April. The group of hotels also works closely with the BC Humane Society.

Ontario

The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto has a Dog Days Package which includes a Westin Heavenly Dog Bed, dog bowl, water-resistant pet blanket, a bag holder gift for a leash, treats from a local dog bakery and a curated list of pet-friendly places near the hotel.

Strata Kingston Hotel’s Pet Package includes a Kingston-branded collar, leash and toy. The hotel will also make a donation to the Kingston Humane Society for each Pet Package check-in.

Green Acres Inn’s Pampered Pooch Package includes a dog bed, linens, dog bowls, treats, a Kingston-branded tug toy, collar and leash bundled in a Kingston-branded tote, as well as dog-walking maps and a list of pet-friendly patios in Kingston, Ont. A portion of the proceeds from this package are donated to Kingston Animal Rescue.

Alberta

Delta Hotels Calgary Downtown’s Pet Package offers a dog bed, welcome gift and a map highlighting nearby off-leash pet zones.

Quebec

W Montreal’s P.A.W. (Pets are Welcome) program offers inclusive cleaning fees, freshly cooked pet meals via the hotel’s room-service menu, a welcome kit (bed, bowls, pet-friendly places map) and pet amenities (toys and treats).
