City ID Group is rebranding as The July in preparation for its European expansion. This aparthotel company, initially based in Amsterdam, will soon open locations in London, Dublin, and Lisbon. The July London will be the brand’s first international venture, featuring over 100 apartments, flexible workspaces, a seasonal restaurant, a bar, and a gym. Similarly, The July Dublin will leverage the city’s architectural heritage, offering a unique experience for guests who want to live like locals.
Pride of Britain Hotels (PoB) has appointed new board members, including Rohaise Rose-Bristow, co-owner of The Torridon in Scotland, and Joanne Taylor-Stagg, general manager at The Athenaeum in London. PoB Hotels also achieved a prestigious silver certification from EarthCheck, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. They plan to release a Whitepaper based on a survey of 3,000 individuals, outlining 2024 trends and strategic campaigns focused on personalised experiences, culinary indulgence, and wellness getaways.
In a recent study by InsureandGo, 61% of UK travellers prioritise sustainability when planning holidays. Among 2,000 respondents, 18% made sustainability their top priority, while 43% took small steps toward greener travel. The research highlighted a growing demand for eco-friendly options, especially among younger travellers and those who take one holiday a year. While 57% considered sustainability, they wouldn’t sacrifice their desired holiday. About 26% deemed it “extremely” important for airlines and hotels to support sustainable practices.
London Biggin Hill Airport unveiled The Landing, a 56-room boutique hotel funded by HSBC UK. The four-star facility, designed for airport crew, engineers, and local businesses, includes a lounge, fitness suite, and restaurant/bar, benefiting the community with over 50 new jobs. The hotel reflects the airport’s transition to a low-carbon business, supported by ongoing investment. London Biggin Hill, home to 70 companies and 1,400 employees, continues its growth as a business aviation hub.
